Of course you have heard, "don't feed chocolate to your dog." This is not because they don't enjoy it, how could they not? Theobromine is an alkaloid found primarily in cocoa, and is very difficult for our pups to digest. In fact, this chemical is potentially lethal to our little friends. But there is good news, carob is a perfect substitute for this sweet indulgence. Though not common at your local grocer, carob can be found at most specialty food stores.
